Rain brings relief in different places including Dhaka

Dhaka, May 21: There have been storms and rains in different parts of the country, including the capital. In this way, the city dwellers have got relief from the scorching heat of the last few days. The Kalbaishakhi storm (Nor'wester) started in Dhaka on Saturday (May 21) at around 5:45 am. After a while it started raining. It was raining heavily in the capital at 8 in the morning.

Many city dwellers suddenly woke up in the morning due to the intensity of the storm. According to meteorologists, not only Dhaka but also other parts of the country have been experiencing storms and rains since Saturday morning. This has brought relief to the people in the uncomfortable heat that has been going on for a few days. Although the temperature was not very high, people were suffering due to the rising water vapor in the air.

It has been reported that Comilla, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chandpur, Jhenaidah, Magura, Narail, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Shariatpur and Jessore areas have been affected by the Kalbaishakhi storm since Saturday morning.

The tendency of storm-rain has increased on Friday as compared to last few days. It rained more or less in all the divisions except Khulna division on this day. The meteorological department said that this trend of storm and rain may continue in the next few days.

On Friday, the highest temperature in the country was 37.6 degrees Celsius in Jessore. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 32.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the light pressure created in the Dead Sea Bay and adjoining Myanmar has condensed and turned into clear light pressure and then low pressure and remained in the same area. It could move northeast to the coast of Myanmar. The extension of another light pressure extends through Bihar, West Bengal and the southwestern part of Bangladesh to the North Bay.
