Rangpur Express Rangpur Express derails, Dhaka-North Bengal train service stopped
Dhaka, Nov 21: The Dhaka-bound Rangpur Express train leaving Rangpur has derailed. Rail communication between Dhaka and North Bengal has been stopped. The incident took place at 4:40 am on Tuesday (November 21) at Gharinda railway station in Tangail.
Bangabandhu Setu East Railway Station in-charge Rezaul Karim confirmed this in the morning.
Rezaul Karim said that the Rangpur Express train took a break at Bangabandhu East Railway Station and left for Dhaka in the early morning. When the train reached Tangail railway station, the luggage compartment after the engine suddenly derailed. As a result, rail service between Dhaka and North Bengal has been stopped.
Tangail Railway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Akbar said that the matter was immediately reported to the railway authorities and the rescue team reached the spot.
