Dhaka, April 25, 2021: It is necessary to stop traveling to India without any urgent need, said the head professor of the National Technical Committee on Covid-19. Mohammad Sahidullah.

He said the national committee has discussed this. They will soon make this recommendation to the government.

Incidentally, new variants of the corona are spreading in India at an alarming rate. Double and triple mutant viruses are being heard. The new variant is likely to move to Bangladesh, public health experts said. And if this variant comes to Bangladesh, it is feared that it will not affect the health system of Bangladesh.

Public health experts say that this variant has not been reported in Bangladesh yet. But since India is a very close country, the borders are also limited, there is also travel through land ports, so it will not be too late for this variant to come to the country. When it comes, the situation will be terrible.

Asked if the national committee would make any recommendation to the government, Prof Mohammad Sahidullah said, "The members of the national committee have already discussed the matter. The movement along the border with India should be restricted at once, so travel should be stopped for such common reasons. It must be done in an urgent need. At the same time, Assad must be kept in quarantine for 14 days from India. Whether it is by land or air, in fact they have to be kept in the official quarantine for 14 days. Travel with India cannot be stopped. But it has to be limited. '

Asked if the government had been informed of the committee's discussions, he said, "The government has not been recommended yet. But I will. It was discussed in the meeting of the members.
