Record 1,246 dengue patients hospitalized in one day, 5 deaths reported

Dhaka, July 13: The number of dengue cases is increasing day by day. Almost every day the number of infected is making a record. Death toll is also increasing. Five people have died of dengue infection in the country in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Wednesday. With this, the number of people died of dengue this year has reached 88.

At this time, 1,246 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, which is the highest in one day this year. Earlier on Tuesday, 1,054 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals.

This information was shared in the dengue report signed by Dr. Md. Zahidul Islam, in charge of the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS on Wednesday.

According to the DGHS, 1,246 people were admitted to various public and private hospitals of the country due to dengue from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday. Among them 709 are residents of Dhaka and 537 from outside Dhaka.

From January 1 to July 12 this year, 16,143 people were admitted to hospitals due to dengue. Among them, 11,001 people have been admitted to various hospitals in the capital, and 5,142 people were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka. At the same time, 12,264 people were discharged from hospitals. Among them 8,402 residents of Dhaka and 3,862 people outside Dhaka.

During the corona pandemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28,429 people were infected with dengue throughout the country. In the same year, 105 people died due to dengue throughout the country.
