Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 19: Wishing the Hindus on Janmashtami, President Md. Abdul Hamid said, 'Religious harmony is an integral part of the history and tradition of Bangladesh. The basic message of all religions is human welfare. All the religious festivals in this country have been celebrated in a festive atmosphere with the participation of common people since the early times. Everyone should be vigilant so that no one can undermine this atmosphere of communal harmony by using the excuse of religious or ethnic differences.'

On the occasion of Janmashtami, a delegation of Hindu Religious Welfare Trust met the President at Bangabhaban on Thursday (August 18) evening. The President said these that time.

He said that the government is giving various incentives to make the life of common people easier in the context of the corona pandemic and the current global economic situation. Besides, the government is implementing various programmes.

The President called upon everyone to extend their hand of cooperation and sympathy so that the poor people of the society can participate in the Janmashtami festival.
