Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 9: Police officers who have worked in the force for more than 25 years and are neglecting their duty at work are being identified. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this in response to questions from journalists after the discussion programme organized on the occasion of 'Renewable Energy and Public Engineering Day for Sustainable Development' organized at the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) in the capital on Tuesday (November 8).

In another question about the compulsory retirement of several police officers recently, the Home Minister said that our police force is a disciplined force. This force is for maintaining peace and order and serving the common people.

He said that police officers who do not care about the country, who do not have patriotism in their hearts, who are showing reluctance to work, are not performing their assigned duties properly, and are grossly negligent at work - officers who have completed 25 years are being identified.

When asked how many people have been identified so far, the minister said that it is an ongoing process. But there is no word that happened today. If you look further back every year every month one or two people are going to retire. It does not come in any significant event.

In the speech of the Chief Guest at the function organized on the occasion of Renewable Energy and Public Engineering Day for sustainable development, the Home Minister said that the Prime Minister thinks that we must give importance to technical education for sustainable development. By 2041, we are doing everything necessary to become a developed country.
