Coronavirus Restaurant owners express anger after Govt directs not to allow unvaccinated to eateries
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, January 5: Bangladesh Restaurant Owners Association has expressed frustration over the government's decision to stop eating in hotels and restaurants without vaccine certificate to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The organization has requested the government to take a decision in this regard. After an inter-ministerial meeting on Omicron at the Secretariat on Monday (January 3), Health Minister Zahid Malek said those who have not been vaccinated will not be able to go to hotels and restaurants to eat.
Imran Hasan, secretary general of the association, said the decision would hurt the hotel and restaurant owners. Agents who have to go online to do business on it, they will take commission as they wish. Just as consumers will suffer, so will restaurant owners. Through this, they are trying to give a chance to another power. Those who have been anarchy in the name of food delivery.
The leader also said that there were long-standing restrictions on hotels and restaurants last year to prevent the spread of corona. Everything is open in the country, why is there only a sword against us again and again? ' The owners have been greatly affected by the various decisions made from time to time. We are not able to make up for that loss yet.'
The health minister also said on Monday that the government was moving towards imposing restrictions on various issues, although there was no concern of a lockdown as the rate of infection with the new type of coronavirus, Omicron, was on the rise. Those who have been vaccinated will be able to eat in restaurants, go to the office, do various activities normally, wearing masks. Those who do not get vaccinated will not be able to go to restaurants (hotels) to eat. Ticker certificate must be shown. Only then will the restaurant entertain him.
