Restrictions to ease between July 15 and 22, hard lockdown from July 23 again

Dhaka, July 13: Restrictions imposed by the government on various issues to curb the spread of the coronavirus will be relaxed from July 15 to 22, according to an official statement on Monday (July 12).

It is said that a notification will be issued by the cabinet department in this regard on Tuesday. Strict restrictions will be imposed again from July 23.

According to the cabinet department, all types of public transport will be run in compliance with the health rules from July 15, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. At the same time, shops and shopping malls will be opened, in which case the hygiene rules will have to be strictly followed. The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated on July 21 (Wednesday).

A seven-day strict ban began at 6 am on July 1 as coronavirus infections increased at an alarming rate. The ban lasted until 11:59 on July 7. Later, the ban was extended for another seven days till midnight on July 14.
