Road accident in Brahmanbaria kills three, injures five

Dhaka, November 26: Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a power tiller in Brahmanbaria's Vijayanagar upazila; Five others were injured. The accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rampur area around 7pm on Wednesday, said Vijaynagar Police Station OC Atiqur Rahman.

The deceased were identified as Akhter Hossain, 50, son of late Saeed Miah of Charaislampur village in Vijaynagar upazila, Ramzan Miah, 60, son of late Solman Miah and Shahidullah, 30, son of late Habibullah Miah.

The injured have been shifted to District Sadar Hospital. However, their names were not immediately known.

OC Atiqur Rahman said a Sylhet-bound passenger bus collided head-on with a power tiller coming from the opposite direction in front of Jamuna Bricks in Rampur area in the evening. Three Power Tiller riders died on the spot.

Five passengers of the bus were injured in the accident, the OC said.
