Robber caught by beggar while running away with chain of girl in Uttara

Dhaka, September 14: A chain snatcher named Sabuj (36) was caught and handed over to the police by a beggar, while stealing a girl's gold chain in Uttara of the capital. The incident took place in front of the Kushal Center in Sector 3 of Dhaka's Uttara Paschim Police Station on Tuesday (September 13) evening.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara Paschim Police Station Mohammad Mohsin said that the arrested robber Sabuj is the son of Siddikur Rahman of Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur district. And the beggar Babar Mia is the son of Tanu Sheikh of Navinragar upazila of Brahmanbaria.

The OC said the victim, Ankhi Moni Siva, worked in a private company in Uttara. On her way home after work on Tuesday evening, Sabuj pulled her chain and ran.

When the victim Siva screamed, the people around chased Green. Babar Mia was standing there begging. Seeing Sabuj running away, he intercepted him and hit him with a stick in his hand, then caught him. Later he was handed over to the police.

He also said that Sabuj swallowed the stolen chain out of fear of the police. Later the chain was recovered by making him vomit. A case has been filed in this incident. Babar Mia has been rewarded.
