Rohingyas again entering Bangladesh from Myanmar

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 12: Conflicts have been going on in Myanmar for the past few days. The ongoing conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine State, an area bordering Bangladesh and India, is affecting the border area. Due to this, Rohingyas are again entering Bangladesh through the Myanmar border.

About 10-15 Rohingyas have taken shelter in Kutupalong and Balukhali camps in Cox's Bazar in two days till Sunday.

According to local sources, thousands more Rohingyas are preparing to enter Bangladesh. They entered through different borders of Ghumdhum, Tumbru, Ukhia, and Teknaf in Naikshyongchari of Bandarban.

Rabiul Hasan, the leader of Ukhiya's Palangkhali Rights Implementation Committee, said that the Rohingyas are fleeing on the pretext of the conflict that has been going on inside Myanmar for the past few days. Rohingyas are coming every day.

The fleeing Rohingyas said that the Myanmar army and police have resumed operations in the Rakhine state, but the current situation is somewhat calmer than before. But knowing about the relief sent from Malaysia, they are coming to Bangladesh. Because even though the level of torture in Rakhine State has decreased a little, the Rohingyas are not allowed to go out for any work by Myanmar police and army. Starving-semi-starving Rohingyas are therefore running to Bangladesh.

Gafur Chowdhury, Chairman of Palongkhali Union Parishad of Ukhia, said that there are reports that Rohingyas are preparing to flee to Bangladesh from Balibazar and Sap Bazar in Myanmar. They are staying 30 km away from the border of Bangladesh.

However, Kamran Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Battalion assigned to the Rohingya camp, said that we have not received any such information so far.
