Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Rooppur's work will not be delayed due to sanctioned Russian ship 'Ursa Major'
Dhaka, January 27: Commenting on the incident that happened with the sanctioned Russian ship 'Ursa Major' carrying equipment of Rooppur nuclear power plant, it was not good for anyone, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman said that the work of Rooppur project will not be delayed due to this incident. It has been assured that the work will be completed within the stipulated time.
He said this to reporters at the end of the third session of the third day of the Deputy Commissioner Conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday (January 26).
When asked by journalists about the incident of the Russian ship 'Ursa Major', Yafes Osman said that probably many people are talking about the Ministry of Science. However, I say with regard to the Russian ships, their contract with us is that we have nothing to do with them until the goods reach the river port of Rooppur.
He said, we are concerned only when our river reaches the port. Still, I will say that what happened is not good for anyone. Thousands of ships have arrived for so long, never a word. There has been an incident and we have told them not to do this in future.
At this time, the Minister of Science and Technology said that the work of Rooppur nuclear power plant will be completed within the stipulated time and they will complete the work timely. We are still on that path. So there is no reason to fear. Did the cargo ship arrive? He said to reporters, "I am not interested, in where the cargo is! Whether in London or elsewhere."
Will the Rooppur nuclear power plant work time be delayed? In response to such a question, he said, "I said it will be at right time, they said it. There is a lot of work ahead. It is not that just because one task is delayed, all tasks are delayed. We have not been told until now, because of that time will be delayed. So why am I going to say?"
