Rowshan Ershad flies back to Bangkok for treatment
Dhaka, July 5: After a 8-day stay in Bangladesh, Begum Rowshan Ershad, Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad and Chief Patron of the Jatiya Party, left Dhaka for Thailand for a medical checkup.
She left Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday (July 5) at 1:35 pm on a Thai Airways flight en route to Bangkok. She was accompanied by Rangpur 3 constituency MP Rahgir Al Mahi Saad Ershad and daughter-in-law Mahima Saad.
Former Presidium members Prof Delwar Hossain, Zafar Iqbal Siddiqui, Fakhruzzaman Jahangir, former MP Salauddin Mukti, party vice chairman Nigar Sultana Rani and others bade her farewell at the Westin Hotel in the capital's Gulshan at noon.
Earlier, Begum Rowshan Ershad, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and the main patron of the Jatiya Party, checked in at the Westin Hotel on June 27, after returning back to Dhaka following an eight-month stay in Bangkok.
On November 5 last year, Rowshan Ershad was taken to Thailand by air ambulance for advanced treatment. She was accompanied by her son Rahgir Al Mahi Saad Ershad and daughter-in-law Mahima Ershad.
