Dhaka, Dec 12: Opposition leader Rowshan Ershad requested Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina not to form an electoral alliance with Jatiya Party (JaPa). She also requested the Awami League President not to get into any kind of negotiation for any seat with JaPa.

Rowshan Ershad went to Ganabhaban to meet the Prime Minister on Tuesday (December 12) afternoon.

"Rowshan Ershad has requested the Prime Minister not to enter into any seat-sharing agreement with the Jatiya Party," JaPa General Secretary Moshiur Rahman Ranga told reporters after the meeting with the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban.

He said, "We do not support GM Quader's actions regarding elections. He has forcibly taken over the Jatiya Party, which is why Rowshan Ershad requested the Prime Minister not to have an alliance with the Jatiya Party.”

JaPa General Secretary said, "In this election, the wife, son and two-time General Secretary of the founder of Jatiya Party were not nominated in the election. So who are they fighting in the election? We are not with the National Party. We will not participate in the elections with them.”

"About 200 to 300 leaders and workers of the party have been expelled. Deserving candidates have been insulted by not being nominated. We have requested no alliance with GM Quader's Jatiya Party,” he added.

When Ranga was asked about the Prime Minister's response, he said, "The Prime Minister said she will look into the matter."

Reiterating GM Quader's illegal takeover of the Jatiya Party, Rowshan Ershad-led JaPa spokesperson Kazi Mamunur Rashid said, "If there is any compromise with the Jatiya Party, we should discuss it with them. We don't support GM Quader."
