Dhaka, August 27: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP said that the information being spread on social media about the exclusion of religious education in the new curriculum is not correct. This is rumour. She said this in response to a question from journalists at the end of a press conference titled 'Orion Trek with Nishat' at Maulana Akram Kha Auditorium of the National Press Club on Saturday (August 27).

The minister said, "A special section on social media is spreading misinformation as part of anti-government campaign. They are trying to spread misinformation about the new curriculum without finding any issue. It is being said that religious education should be eliminated. This is absolutely not true. All the misinformation about the new curriculum We have already presented them to the people."

Deepu Moni commented that the scope of education will be expanded through the new curriculum.

She said, "Through this, we are working to expand the knowledge, skills and values of the students. Religion, ethics and values are an integral part of this curriculum. They remain."

Noting that there was no question of eliminating religious education, she said, "It is not at all correct to restrict any particular education to the way in which skills and knowledge are being expanded."

Meanwhile, Education Minister Dipu Moni said about Nishat Majumdar and Parmita Pragya's journey to Manaslu, "Women are advancing from all directions. On August 29, Nishat Majumder and Parmita Pragya will go to Manaslu Jai. They will fly the Bangladesh flag on the mountain top. Nishat will come victorious and we will hear her story. Nishat is not only a mountain conqueror but an inspiration to us all."

She said, "People dream and Bangabandhu taught them to overcome all obstacles and win. The Prime Minister is showing that dream to the nation. And women like Nishat are simple Bengali girls who do brave things."
