Saudi Arabia launches e-Visa for Bangladeshis

Dhaka, May 2: Saudi Arabia has launched e-visa or electronic visa for the citizens of Bangladesh from May 1. From now on, you will no longer need a sticker visa to visit this Middle Eastern country. E-Visa service was inaugurated at the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka on Monday (May 1).

A programme was organized at the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka on the occasion of the inauguration of e-Visa. Isa bin Yusuf Al Duhailan, the Saudi ambassador assigned to Dhaka, spoke in it.

The Saudi ambassador said that many went to Saudi Arabia under the clutches of brokers. They are then told they will be paid a lot of money and given jobs they are not qualified for. You need to know their terms. The e-Visa will be issued in English and Arabic. As a result, Bangladeshis can easily understand how many days the visa is for and in which category the applicant got the visa.

He said, earlier, e-visa was available for Umrah of Bangladeshis. But from now e-visa can be taken for all types of visas. Bangladeshis can also get e-visa for visits to Saudi Arabia. However, in that case, it was informed at the event that there should be a US, UK or Schengen visa.

Director General of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) Shahidul Alam, Director General of West Asia Division of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shafiqur Rahman and others were also present on the occasion.
