Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 23 August 2023: Saudi Arabia will consider reducing the cost of Hajj, said State Minister for Religion Faridul Haque Khan. He said this after a bilateral meeting with the delegation led by Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiyah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Saudi Government at the Ministry of Religion at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.

When asked if there was any discussion about reducing the cost of Hajj, the state minister said, they said, "If it is possible to reduce the cost in this place, we will reduce it."

Tawfiq Al-Rabiyah said, "We have come here to welcome Bangladeshis to Mecca and Medina. The duration of Umrah visa has been extended from 30 days to 90 days. Anyone can visit Mecca, Medina and other cities." He said, Bangladeshis are helping the development of Saudi. 2.8 million Bangladeshis are currently working in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Hajj and Umrah minister said, "I want to assure every Bangladeshi citizen that they can go anywhere while performing Umrah. Now women can also go to Makkah and Madinah without a mahram."

The Saudi minister said that any Bangladeshi living in Saudi Arabia can invite their relatives to Saudi Arabia on a visit visa. In addition, discussions were held with Bangladesh on reducing the cost of Hajj.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Religion Mu A. Hamid Jamaddar said, free four-day on-arrival transit visa will be given at the Saudi airport. For this, Saudia Airlines has to go to Saudi Arabia
