School, college holiday extended till November 14

Dhaka, October 29: Holidays of all educational institutions in the country have been extended again due to coronavirus situation. According to the new decision, the educational institution will be closed till November 14.

The development was notofied by Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.

The announcement was made by the Education Minister at a virtual press conference on Thursday (October 29).

Dipu Moni said, "Educational institutions will be closed for the next two weeks. At this time our monitoring work will continue. The next decision will be taken after analysing with the concerned people whether the situation has been created to open the educational institution after two weeks or not."

The minister said, "Educational institutions have had to be closed since March due to the Covid-19 situation. This holiday is being extended for another 14 days. After that it will be examined whether the limited number of educational institutions can be opened or not. Considering next year's SSC candidates, it is being considered whether a limited number of educational institutions can be opened."

Regarding admission in public universities, the Education Minister said, if anyone wants, he can take the admission test in person. She called upon the government to give importance to the integrated admission test.

Dr. Dipu Moni said, "If everyone starts taking physical exams, we will think about what kind of situation will be created. If the admission test is taken in an integrated manner, the suffering of the students will be reduced and the time spent will be less.

All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 17 due to coronavirus. HSC and equivalent examinations have been canceled. Annual examination will not be taken.

At the end of November this year, a limited number of educational institutions may be opened, the minister said.
