Dhaka, October 29, 2020: A limited number of schools and colleges may open at the end of November this year, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said.

She said, they though about it considering next year’s SSC candidates.

"The decision will be taken after considering the Covid-19 situation before opening the educational institution."

The education minister said, "Educational institutions have been closed since last March. For this reason, even though classes are conducted through parliamentary television and online, some people are lagging behind as it is not possible to conduct physical classes."

"The syllabus of next year's SSC candidates will be completed by opening a limited number of educational institutions. An evaluation test will then be arranged. Then those who think they are ready for the test will take part in it."

Asked whether next year's SSC exams would be postponed, the education minister said, "No decision has been taken yet to postpone the exams. If such a situation arises, it may be postponed a bit without taking the test at the scheduled time. Before that, we are giving more importance to opening a limited number of educational institutions."

She said, "The holidays of the educational institutions have been extended for the next two weeks. At this time, we will monitor and decide about the opening of schools and colleges."

It is to be noted that due to the coronavirus situation, the leave of all the educational institutions of the country was extended again. According to the new decision, the educational institution will be closed till November 14. All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 17. HSC and equivalent examinations have been canceled. Annual examination will not be taken.
