Dhaka, March 24: The government is going to take a decision to extend the school-college holidays again as the situation of corona virus infection has deteriorated. A decision will be taken in the next one or two days, said a senior official of the Ministry of Education.

All educational institutions have been closed since March 18 after the corona infection in the country on March 8 last year. At this time, the government continued class activities online and on Sangsad TV.

However, the government decided to reopen the school-college on March 30 and the university on May 24 as the corona infection was reduced. In the light of a directive of the Cabinet Department regarding the opening of schools and colleges, the Ministry of Education and the institutions under the Department of Secondary and Higher Education have also been directed to make preparations.

On the other hand, depending on the sighting of the moon, the government has fixed March 30 instead of March 29. In addition, the corona patient identification rate exceeded three thousand on Tuesday (March 23).

Asked whether the educational institution is opening in this situation, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education Md Mahbub Hossain said on Wednesday, the decision will be announced in a day or two. We are keeping everything in mind.

According to an official of the Ministry of Education, the government is deciding to increase the leave of educational institutions due to the increase in the number of corona patients. Because in this situation it would not be right to send children to school-college. This holiday may be extended till after Eid.

The holiday of Shabe Barat has been fixed on March 30 instead of March 29. For this reason, according to the announcement of the government, the educational institution will not open on March 30. This leave will be further postponed, according to the Ministry of Education. According to the concerned media, the holiday may be extended till Eid-ul-Fitr due to the new outbreak of corona.

Asked about this, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education Md. Mahbub Hossain told Jago News on Wednesday (March 24), "Despite the government's decision to reopen the educational institution on March 30, Shabe Barat holiday has been declared on that day. Will not be opened."

He said, "As the situation in Corona has escalated, the decision to open an educational institution is being considered. Students will not be tested by making guinea pigs. The decision to open a school-college will be taken after considering their safety."

He said that the holiday of the educational institution may be declared till the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
