Second phase of Bishwa Ijtema begins

Dhaka, January 20: The second phase of Bishwa Ijtema has officially started in Tongi on Friday.

Since Tuesday night, worshipers from different districts started coming to the Ijtema Maidan. Especially a large number of foreign pilgrims came to the Maidan from Wednesday night and took a stand. About 10,000 worshipers from different countries will participate in this year's Ijtema, the organizing authority said.

According to the control room of the Gazipur district administration of Vishwa Ijtema, about four thousand foreign Muslims from 54 countries have come to the Ijtema Maidan till Thursday. A large Friday prayer will be offered at the Ijtema Maidan. Millions of devotees from Gazipur and surrounding areas will participate in this.

The informal activities of Ijtema started on Thursday after Asr with the Ambayan at the Zimmadari of Maulana Abdus Sattar. In the second phase as well, apart from 64 districts of the country, foreign pilgrims took part in the Ijtema and took positions in different areas. After the Fajr prayer on Friday, the main Ijtema ceremony begins with a speech. As in the first phase, in the second phase also, the members of the law and order forces have formed a security zone for the overall security of the Ijtema.
