Seven more people die with coronavirus, 619 new cases recorded within 24 hours

Dhaka, March 4: The deadly coronavirus has claimed seven more lives in the last 24 hours across the country. Among the deceased were five men and two women who died at hospitals.

With the latest deaths, the toll rose to 8,435.

Four among the deceased were from Dhaka division while one each was from Sylhet, Chittagong and Rajshahi divisions.

In the last 24 hours, 619 new cases of coronavirus have been identified. With this, the total number of identified patients in the country stood at 5,48,549.

Besides, 16,144 samples were collected and 15,985 samples were tested in 219 laboratories in the last 24 hours. The total number of sample tests stood at 41,05,321.

Meanwhile, another 841 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in the last 24 hours at various hospitals and homes across the country, including the capital. So far a total of 5,00,468 people have recovered.

In the last 24 hours, the sample test rate is 3.87 percent. So far, the detection rate is 13.36 percent, the recovery rate is 91.23 percent and the mortality rate is 1.54 percent.

On March 8 last year, the first coronavirus patient was identified in the country, while the first death was recorded on March 18.
