Dhaka, Ocotber 25: The BNP will not take part in any election under the present government and the Election Commission - the party is in such a tough position as a party. But the polling station paints a different picture. Many leaders of the party are candidates in the Union Parishad elections without party symbol. Central leaders say it is a strategy of the party.

According to sources, the BNP high command has taken a very tactical position regarding the UP election. As part of the strategy, the Center has announced a boycott of the vote, but no one will be expelled or protested if elected. After learning of such a decision of the Center, the interest of the local leaders of the BNP towards elections has increased. Many were also in the fray as independent candidates in the first round of UP elections. Some have even won. The same picture is seen in the second round of elections.

In those UPs where the Awami League has a single candidate, the BNP's activities are a bit less. However, where the ruling party has more than one candidate, they are more active in the field as independent candidates in UP. Awami League candidates have taken advantage of the opportunity to win the election.

It is learned that BNP leaders and activists in different divisions including Rajshahi and Sylhet are electing as independent candidates for the post of chairman and member. Nomination papers have already been submitted. Especially in those areas of the country where BNP and Sammana parties already have more votes, many do not want to miss the possibility of winning the elections.

Voting will be held in 16 unions of Godagari and Tanore upazilas of Rajshahi on November 11. In this section, BNP union president Kamruzzaman Hena Tanore has submitted nomination papers for the post of chairman of Badhair union. At the same time, Mominul Haque Momin, president and former chairman of Panchndar Union BNP No. 3, submitted his nomination. Saranjai Union No. 5 BNP president and former chairman Mozammel Haque Khan also submitted his nomination papers from the election office on October 17.
