Severe winter may continue across Bangladesh

Dhaka, January 9: A severe winter is being felt all over the country. It has an impact on public life. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the cold conditions may continue for the next few days.

On Sunday (January 8) morning, the minimum temperature in the country dropped to 7.8 degrees Celsius. Meteorological Department recorded this temperature in Jessore and Chuadanga in the morning. This is the lowest temperature of this winter season.

Dense fog has been falling in most parts of the country including Dhaka for the past few days. So it does not meet the sun. The difference between day and night temperature decreases. Due to the northerly wind, it is cold in Konkan. In the meantime, the temperature has dropped again and the cold current has started. Meteorologists have predicted the temperature to drop further. In the last four-five days, the sun was seen in Dhaka only on Friday afternoon. The minimum temperature in Dhaka on Sunday morning was 12.3 degrees Celsius, which was 11.5 degrees Celsius a day earlier.

Normal life is disrupted due to severe winter. Dense fog disrupts traffic. An accident is happening. There are many diseases.

Apart from 11 districts of the country, a mild cold wave was blowing over the Rajshahi division on Saturday.

Meteorologist Bajlur Rashid said that mild to moderate cold wave is flowing over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions along with Tangail, Faridpur, Manikganj, Jessore, Chuadanga, Satkhira and Kushtia districts on Sunday and it may continue.

Meteorological Department said that there was cold wave in Madaripur, Kishoreganj and Barisal districts on Saturday but it disappeared on Sunday. Highlighting the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday, Meteorologist Bajlur Rashid said that the weather in the whole country may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Moderate to dense fog is likely to fall over the country from midnight to morning and it may continue till noon in some parts of the country.

During this time, the night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country and the day temperature may increase slightly, he said, due to the decrease in day and night temperature difference, there may be a feeling of moderate to severe winter across the country.
