BNP | Awami League Shahjahan Omar is not an intruder: Obaidul Quader
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 3 December 2023: Shahjahan Omar is not an infiltrator, the general secretary of the party, Obaidul Quader, has commented that he has nothing to say if any one leave BNP and join Awami League democratically.
He said that the people of Bangladesh could not be prevented from the election even with conspiracies, terror and strike in the name of many obstacles in the election. Although some parties are away from the elections, the people are towards the elections. Despite many attempts, the people of Bangladesh are united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Obaidul Quader said these things to the journalist at the president's office in Dhanmondi of the capital on Saturday afternoon.
He said that the BNP has fallen into a deep hole, their movement is stuck in the sand of mistakes, the leaders and activists of the BNP are also disappointed. It is doubtful whether the activists will enter the field of agitation on the call of BNP or not. BNP's doom and gloom has caused divisions in the party due to wrong policies. Many people voted disappointed with the leadership of BNP. Everyone in Trinamool BNP is BNP people.
He also said that 29 parties are heading for elections, 14/15 parties including BNP are out of elections. Judging by the festive enthusiasm of the people in the elections, it seems that a large number of voters will turn out.
Quader said that people will break the black hand of BNP's conspiracy by exercising voting rights. If someone from BNP changes party, it is his personal matter. But no one is being blackmailed into the election. Regarding the independent candidate, he said, it is not democracy to stop the independent candidate from gaining popularity after leaving the heavyweight candidate. Independent and whichever candidate is chosen, will be verified by voting in public elections.
General Secretary of Awami League said that propaganda linking India with Awami League has started since Pakistan period. The Awami League is not worried about the fact that the elections involve India's propaganda. The Election Commission is legally independent. They can take all measures independently. IRI's survey said 70 percent of people are in favor of Sheikh Hasina. BNP has lost public support due to wrong politics. Party leaders are confident about all the decisions of Sheikh Hasina.
Obaidul Quader said that the leaders of BNP who are in jail for terrorist activities including police killings will not be able to avoid responsibility. They are being judged. Similarly, if there is any conflict or disorder related to the election in the coming days, everything will be decided by the Election Commission.
