Dhaka, September 3: In Narayanganj Awami League's politics, City Corporation Mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy and Member of Parliament Shamim Osman's dispute is long-standing. Their controversial relationship is not unknown to the countrymen. Central Awami League is also aware of this. In the past few days, they have made oblique statements aimed at each other. They are not usually seen sitting together. Sometimes even when they sit, there is no talk.

Shamim Osman and Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy were sitting on the same stage at the Sonargaon Upazila Awami League conference on Saturday (September 3) afternoon. However, even today, they did not talk about alcohol. Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak was present as the chief guest in this conference.

According to the sources of the leaders present at the conference, Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy and Member of Parliament of Narayanganj-4 Constituency Shamim Osman sat in a row on the same platform. But two were sitting in two corners. They never spoke to each other. At the end of the conference, the two left on their own.

Earlier, Mayor Ivy and Member of Parliament Shamim Osman were sitting at the same table at Narayanganj District Police's Iftar party on April 18 and Narayanganj District Administration's Iftar party on April 20. However, they did not talk that day either.

Local politicians say that since 1973, the dispute started between Ivy's father, Ali Ahmed Chunka and Shamim Osman's father, Samsujjoha. Even now they have maintained the continuity of that opposition.

There have been many attempts from the central Awami League to resolve the dispute between Ivy and Shamim. But they never succeeded. Although they were silent for a while, they again went to that conflicting position.
