Dhaka, January 18: After a two-year suspension due to the coronavirus epidemic, a three-day Deputy Commissioners' (DC) conference has begun. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the conference in a video conference (virtually) from Ganobhaban on Tuesday (January 18) after 10 am.

Sessions with President Md. Abdul Hamid, Speaker of the National Assembly Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui will also be virtual. In other years, the conference was held with the Deputy Commissioners in the meeting room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat, but due to Corona, the venue of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference has been Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

The conference is taking place two years later due to the coronavirus epidemic. This time the DC conference will end on January 20. The DC Conference is held in July every year to provide face-to-face exchange of views and necessary directions between government policy makers and deputy commissioners.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam told a press conference on 'Deputy Commissioners Conference-2022' at the Secretariat on Monday that there would be a total of 25 sessions in the conference this time. Of these, 21 are working sessions with different ministries and departments. Apart from the inaugural function, there will be a session on taking direction of the President, one session on the Speaker's greetings and one session on the Chief Justice's greetings.

He said a total of 55 ministries and departments would participate in the conference. Ministers, advisors, state ministers, deputy ministers, senior secretaries and secretaries will be present as representatives of ministries and departments in the working sessions.
