Dhaka, March 6, 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the historic March 7.

She paid homage to this great hero of history by laying a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu kept in front of the Father of the Nation Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital on Sunday.

After laying a wreath at the altar of the Father of the Nation, the Prime Minister stood there in silence for a while as part of paying homage to this great architect of independence.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the youngest daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger sister of the Prime Minister Sheikh Rehana. A special munajat was held on 15 August 1975 in memory of the martyrs seeking forgiveness of their souls.

On 7 March 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inspired the entire nation with the spirit of independence through a speech in the presence of millions of people on the grounds of the historic racecourse (now Suhrawardy Udyan). He said, "This time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom."
