Sheikh Hasina's 76th birthday today

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 28: Today is the 76th birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the eldest daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

She was born on September 28, 1947, in Tungipara, Gopalganj, in the house of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Following in the footsteps of her father, Sheikh Hasina, who is leading the country, is now considered one of the best leaders in South Asia.

The Prime Minister is in the United States on her birthday to attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In her absence, various social and cultural organizations including Awami League will celebrate the day in a festive atmosphere. As part of the central programme, Awami League has organized a discussion meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Center today at 3 pm. Centrally, prayers and Milad Mahfil will be held in all mosques of the country, including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, on this day.

Earlier, the Buddhist community organized a special prayer meeting at Dharmarajik Buddhist Mahavihara (Basabo, Sabujbagh) at 10 am, Christian Association Bangladesh (CAB) at Mirpur Baptist Church at 9 am and the Hindu community at Dhakeshwari temple at 11:30 am. Central leaders of the Awami League were present in those programmes.

Sheikh Hasina also received praise from world leaders for fighting terrorism and militancy. She has been praised around the world for providing shelter to Rohingya Muslims fleeing ethnic violence in Myanmar. She has taken Bangladesh to a unique height.

According to political analysts, due to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu's daughter, the economic growth of Bangladesh is above almost all Asian countries as the wheels of the country's economy are running despite the corona pandemic.

During the government of Sheikh Hasina, the final settlement of the Bangabandhu murder case and the trial of the murderous war criminals of 1971 were possible. Re-establishing the spirit of the great liberation war through the amendment of the constitution, settling the maritime boundary disputes with India and Myanmar and establishing the sovereignty of Bangladesh in the sea opened new horizons for the blue economy.

Her government implemented the border agreement with India and exchanged enclaves, conquered space through the successful launch of the Bangabandhu-1 satellite, entered Bangladesh into the submarine age, built the Padma Bridge with its own funding, metro rail, nuclear power plant, Karnaphuli tunnel, elevated expressway, new flyover bridge, Highways upgraded to four lanes.
