Dhaka, March 30: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader commented that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's development humanity and inclusive politics have pushed BNP's politics into darkness, and BNP is not able to come out of this darkness.

He said this during the distribution of Iftar and Eid gifts among common people at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Saturday.

The bridge minister said how the BNP had surrendered to foreign powers before the election. How Bangladesh conspired to ban and derail elections.

He said, "Good times take time to come. The response to the crisis around the world has hit us here too. However, the people of Bangladesh are fairly well because they have an efficient and prudent leadership like Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina. Comparatively better than many countries."

Obaidul Quader criticized BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul's statement that 80 percent of BNP leaders and workers are being oppressed and persecuted by the Awami League government.

He said, "I will tell Mirza Fakhrul to refrain from these lies. Present the list publicly. Who are these 80 percent of leaders and activists? Mirza Fakhrul, Mirza Abbas, Amir Khusru all got out of jail one by one."

Road Transport Minister said, "BNP's politics is negative. This policy has been rejected by the people of the country. Day by day, BNP is becoming more irrelevant, shrinking."

Regarding BNP's statement that it has not severed ties with Pakistan to accept Delhi's rule, Obaidul Quader said, "In fact, BNP has never severed ties with Pakistan. BNP has Pakistan in its heart, Pakistan in its spirit. And Awami League does not enslave any foreign regime, any foreigner. Bangladesh in our heart, Bangladesh in our mind. That is what we hold in our hearts."
