Hasina Leadership Sheikh Hasina's own glory propelling her to become the new history maker of Bangladesh: Quader
Dhaka, May 18: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become the creator of the new history of Bangladesh, the embodiment of the success and the leader of development.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organised by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League at the party's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Monday morning on the occasion of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Homecoming Day. Obaidul Quader joined the virtual discussion meeting from his official residence.
Referring to Sheikh Hasina's return to the country in a dark time, the Awami League general secretary said, "We started dreaming after Sheikh Hasina was back in the country. Our present generation has come to know about the Liberation war, about Bangabandhu due to her. She has fought relentless to free the country from communalism and bring back the spirit of Liberation War in Bangladesh. Bangabandhu's Bangladesh is a wonder of the world today because of Sheikh Hasina's leadership. Bangladesh is a model state in the world."
Highlighting the context of Sheikh Hasina's return home, he said, "Sheikh Hasina is a rare political leader like Bangabandhu who has moved forward irresistibly without fear in the face of darkness, disaster, storm and crisis."
Obaidul Quader said Sheikh Hasina returned to the blood-soaked ground of Bangabandhu's assassination on May 17, 1981, ignoring the whip of the military ruler. On that day all the roads merged with the capital Dhaka. The city of Dhaka was shaken by the procession. The military dictator could not resist the procession of millions of people in the stormy environment.
On her return to the nation, she rushed all over the country to free the besieged democracy. She united the quarrelsome Awami League.
Elaborating on Sheikh Hasina's struggling life, Obaidul Quader said, "She has come a long way in four decades. She has triumphed over life by standing in the procession of death. She has repeatedly flown the flag of creation standing on the rubble. Sheikh Hasina: Bangabandhu Sheikh Hasina is the name of the most honest politician of North Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina is the name of the most courageous and humane statesmen. Sheikh Hasina is the most popular leader in the next 75 years of politics."
