Six more die with Covid-19, 635 new cases registered within 24 hours

Dhaka, March 5: In the last 24 hours seven people have died with Covid-19 across Bangladesh while 635 new cases have been recorded.

Among the dead are four men and two women. They all died at the hospital. The death toll from the epidemic rose to 8,441.

A press release signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health Prof Dr Nasima Sultana said on Friday (March 5) that 13,879 samples were collected and 13,710 samples were tested in 219 laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours. The total number of sample tests stood at 41,19,031.

The total number of identified patients in the country has increased to 5,49,184 people.

Meanwhile, 676 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in the last 24 hours in different hospitals and homes of the country, including the capital. So far, a total of 5,01,144 people have recovered.

The sample test rate in 24 hours is 4.63 percent. So far, the detection rate is 13.33 percent, the recovery rate is 91.25 percent and the mortality rate is 1.54 percent.
