Dhaka, March 20: Six MoUs have been signed between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The bilateral agreements were signed at a bilateral meeting between the two countries at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday (March 20) at 12 noon.

According to Imrul Kayes Rana, Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa will hold a bilateral meeting at 11:30 am. In their presence, the MoUs were signed between the two countries.

After the meeting, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa signed the visitor's book for the Prime Minister's Office and left the office. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed him at the Prime Minister's Office in Rajapaksa at 10:45 am. At this time they met in private for a while. Then the bilateral meeting between the two countries began.

Earlier on Friday (March 19), Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit. His visit was to attend the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh's independence. On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received him at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka was also awarded the Guard of Honor.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka laid a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar at 11 a.m. on Friday, signed a visitor's book and planted a sapling there. Later, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen paid a courtesy call on Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Suite at Hotel Sonargaon at 3 pm. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka attended the ceremony at the National Parade Ground at 4.30 pm.

He attended a cultural function and dinner hosted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Grand Ball Room of Hotel Intercontinental at 7.30 pm.
