Shirin Sharmin Smart Parliament to be set up soon: Speaker
Dhaka, Feb 12: Stating that the Smart Parliament will be established soon, Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that the officers and employees of Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities with devotion. The work of the National Parliament is being conducted according to the law.
She said these while participating in a special coordination meeting between various wings of the parliament secretariat in the newly constructed conference room at the North Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday.
KM Abdus Salam, Senior Secretary of Jatiya Sangsad gave a welcome speech in this coordination meeting. Additional Secretary of Administrative Support Wing Md. Nuruzzaman, Additional Secretary of Human Resources Wing Mahbooba Panna, Director General of B&IT Division Joint Secretary SM Manjur, Joint Secretary of Legislative Support Wing Begum Chumiya Khanam and many others spoke.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin said, "The importance of such a coordination meeting in the beginning of every year with the participation of all wings of the National Parliament Secretariat is very important."
She said that it is possible to plan the next five years in such a coordination meeting. The speaker said that the problems of different wings should be solved according to their importance.
She mentioned the need to increase the cyber security of the National Parliament Secretariat, increase the capacity of the Human Resource Department and digitize the Parliament Library.
She gave important direction in bringing dynamics to the administrative, legislative and procurement activities of the Parliament Secretariat. Officials from various wings of the National Parliament Secretariat were present on the occasion.
