South City has recovered 15 acres of vacant land after 40 years

Dhaka, February 13: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has recovered 15 acres of vacant land for the past 40 years. These lands of Outfall Cleaner Colony No. 14 and City Village owned by South City Corporation were being occupied by various vested interests for the past 40 years.

Dhaka South City Corporation conducted an eviction drive in Outfall Cleaner Colony No. 14 and City Village on Sunday to recover those lands. Corporation Property Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Moniruzzaman, Executive Magistrate Afifa Khan and Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam conducted this operation. Russell Sabrin, Chief Property Officer of the Corporation, oversaw the evacuation operation and gave necessary directions.

In the operation, the front part of City Village, the front part of Telugu Colony, around 50 houses of Cleaner Colony were demolished in total about thousands of illegal structures and houses. At one stage of the operation, the residents living in the colony also came forward to cooperate and fully cooperated in the evacuation process.

Regarding the raid, Corporation Property Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Moniruzzaman said, "15 acres of vacant land owned by the Corporation is being cleared for development work. In some parts of this 15 acres of land, the cleaners belonging to the Telugu community will be accommodated. The rest A state-of-the-art motor garage will be constructed for the Corporation in part."

He also mentioned that the work of removing the waste from the evacuated part is going on. Regional Executive Officer of Region-4 Md. Haider Ali, Regional Executive Officer of Region-5 Sakhawat Hossain Sarkar, Councilor of Ward No. 48 Abul Kalam Anu, Councilor of Ward No. 49 Badal Sardar, Superintending Engineer of Corporation Anisur Rahman were present and cooperated in the evacuation process. provided
