President-Speaker Speaker holds courtesy meeting with the President at Bangabhaban
Dhaka, April 14: Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on President Md. Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday evening.
President's Press Secretary Md. Zainal Abedin said in the briefing that during the meeting, the Speaker congratulated Abdul Hamid for successfully serving the post of President for two terms. He also thanked the President for addressing the special session on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Parliament.
President Hamid thanked the Speaker for organizing Golden Jubilee celebrations to mark 50 years of Parliament.
He said that through this, the present and new generation will get to know about the history and traditions of the Parliament, besides, they will get an opportunity to know about the life and work of Bangabandhu. During the meeting, they discussed various issues of Parliament.
Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury and Whips Atiur Rahman Atiq, Mahbub Ara Begum Gini and Abu Saeed Al-Mahmood Swapan were with him. The concerned secretaries were also present.
