Dhaka, July 7: Due to the deteriorating coronavirus infection situation, the current ban may be extended till Eid-ul-Azha. In this situation, the restrictions for the sale of sacrificial animals and other related activities may be relaxed. That too will be well-planned.

State minister for public administration said on Monday, "Eid is our big challenge. We have already started thinking about what we will achieve in two weeks so that it is not lost in the third week."

"We will try to tackle the week of Eid through a master plan. We are exploring options as to how that can be done," he said.

Farhad Hossain said that despite the success of the 14-day ban, the subsequent activities will be well-regulated and well-planned.

"It is better to keep this condition till Eid. We have to think about everything. Even if it is a little relaxed, it will be well-planned," the minister said.

According to lawmaker, it is necessary to impose a one-month ban to reduce the infection.

"In that case, since Eid is ahead, we have to pass it very sparingly. We will work on the third week which is very important for us. We are planning how we can manage the challenges well," he said.

The government has issued 21 directives for seven days since July 1, when coronavirus infections became alarming. Five days after the ban, the corona infection situation has not improved. In this context, the ban has been extended for another week, i.e. till midnight on June 14.

Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims in the country, will be celebrated on July 21 or 22, depending on the sighting of the moon.
