IGP Strict action will be taken against vandals: IGP
Dhaka, Nov 6: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said strict measures are being taken against those involved in vandalism and violent crimes such as vehicle vandalism and arson.
He said this in the president's speech at a meeting regarding the safe movement of goods and passenger vehicles at the Hall of Pride of Police Headquarters on Sunday afternoon. Calling upon the leaders of the transport owners and workers, he said that to maintain a comfortable environment in the country and to keep the movement of vehicles normal, public opinion must be formed about the owners, workers and passengers. Vehicular security will be provided on the highway during the blockade.
He appealed to transport workers and drivers to call the National Emergency Service 999 for assistance if required.
The IGP said, "Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we all have been able to eradicate militancy and terrorism by working together in unity. We are ready to face any challenges related to law and order in the future as well."
