Dhaka, April 27: The government has warned that "strict legal action" will be taken if masks are not used outside the home to prevent coronavirus infection.

The government has repeatedly instructed people to use masks to prevent coronavirus infection when someone goes out of the house for an emergency, according to a government statement on Monday. But it is being noticed that many people are disobeying this instruction. In this case, the government will take strict legal action if the mask is not used while moving outside.

Everyone has been advised to use two masks if necessary.

In the wake of the coronavirus epidemic, the government has made it mandatory for everyone to wear masks outside their homes, in late July last year.

After that, a mobile court was set up and punitive measures were taken for not wearing a mask for some time.

When the level of infection started to decrease at the end of last year, the precaution with the usage of mask also decreased. In March, the government issued an 11-point directive emphasizing wearing a mask outside the home and at work if the infection continues to spread.

The official death toll from the coronavirus in the country has risen to 11,150, with the last 1,000 deaths in just ten days. So far, the number of identified patients has increased to 7,48,628.

The government has decided to extend the strict restrictions on infection control in the country from April 14 to May 5.
