Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 27: There was a temporary traffic jam on Padma Bridge. On Friday (August 26) morning, vehicles crossing the bridge were stuck in traffic jam for several minutes. Later traffic returned to normal. During the traffic jam, some took pictures and videos and posted them on Facebook.

In those videos, a long queue of buses, pickups, and private cars were seen on the Padma Bridge. Passengers of those cars were seen taking photos and selfies on the bridge. Some were noticed making videos too.

Padma Bridge Project Sub-Assistant Engineer Md. Humayun Kabir said, "Groundwork is going on under the aluminum railing post above Padma Bridge. Besides, the nut-bolts of the bridge are being tightened. A plastic road barrier is provided on the bridge so that the workers can work safely in safe positions."

He also said, "On Friday morning, the vehicles stopped on the bridge for 2-3 minutes while working on the road barrier. There is no other reason. It will continue for two more days."

Kamal Hossain, the toll manager of the Padma Bridge's Jazira end, said, "Road barriers were being put up on the bridge from pillar number 27 to 32. Then there was a temporary traffic jam."
