Dhaka, October 25: The court has fixed November 24 for the submission of the investigation report in the Sagar-Runi murder case. The date of the investigation report of this case has been postponed 82 times.

Monday (October 25) was the day set for the submission of the investigation report in the case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam set a new date for the submission of the report as the investigating agency did not submit the RAB report, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station General Registration Officer Sub-Inspector of Police Jalal Uddin confirmed.

On February 11, 2012, Sagar Sarowar, news editor of Machranga Television and Meherun Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bangla were killed. After that, Nowsher Alam Roman, brother of the deceased Runi, filed a murder case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

At first, the investigating officer of the case was a Sub-Inspector (SI) of the police station. Four days later, the investigation into the sensational murder case was handed over to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB). After more than two months of investigation, DB failed to unravel the mystery. Later, on April 18 of the same year, the High Court directed the RAB to investigate the murder case.
