Tapan Kanti Ghosh named member secretary of the committee celebrating the golden jubilee of independence

Dhaka, November 16: Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Cabinet Committee formed to oversee the Golden Jubilee of Independence celebration in a colorful and dignified manner. A notification has been issued by the Cabinet Division reconstituting the said committee.

Earlier, the cabinet committee was formed on December 14 last year by convening the Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque.

The reconstituted committee has members as before: - Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal; Information Minister Hasan Mahmud; Local Government Minister Md. Tajul Islam; Education Minister Dipu Moni; Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen; State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak; State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain; and State Minister for Culture KM Khalid.

Supporting the committee are: - Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee to Celebrate the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces, Public Security Secretary, Local Government Secretary, Finance Secretary, Foreign Secretary Secretary, Youth and Sports Secretary, Liberation War Affairs Secretary, Secondary and Higher Education Secretary, Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Culture Affairs Secretary and Information Secretary. The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will provide overall support to the committee.

The committee will take the direction of the Prime Minister in formulating a program to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence. Review, add and subtract national programs prepared by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. The committee will give instructions to identify and solve the problems arising in the field in the implementation of the program.

In addition, the Cabinet Committee will make recommendations on the allocation of funds required for the implementation of the program and will take any other necessary steps related to this matter, the order said.

The order further said that the committee could include any person as a member if necessary. Committee meetings will be held as required.
