The dropout rate in primary has come down to almost zero quota

Dhaka, Jan 24, 2021: State Minister for Culture KM Khalid has said that the dropout rate in primary schools has come down to almost zero.

The state minister was speaking as the special guest at the awarding ceremony of 'RTV SMC Monimix Motivation Medal 2020' organized by RTV at the ballroom of Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Saturday night (January 23).

The state minister said, "Primary education has been upgraded to 100 per cent as a result of decentralization of primary education, provision of stipends and distribution of free books to all students on the first day of the year. With the timely delivery of stipends to 14 million primary school students, the dropout rate has dropped to almost zero.
He said that even in the Covid-19 situation, the stipend money has been delivered to the parents of the students in a timely manner through digital mobile banking. Girls have higher enrollment rates than boys in primary school. 100 percent for girls and 99.6 percent for boys. And all this has been possible due to the efficient, strong, visionary and timely leadership of the Prime Minister.

This time five individuals and one organization have been awarded ‘RTV SMC Monimix Motivation Medal-2020’. 'Lutfar Rahman', a one-time master or teacher in education, 'Sadat Rahman', a Nobel laureate in international children's peace award for children, 'Ashiquzzaman Ashiq', founder of Birsa Munda Prabhati School, 'Dilip Chakraborty', an athlete in Narail, has autism Pran dedicated to welfare and protection has received 'Syeda Munira Islam' and 'Bulbul Fine Arts Academy' (BAFA) medals.

Planning Minister MA Mannan was present as the chief guest on the occasion. State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief was also present as a special guest. Md. Enamur Rahman.

RTV Vice Chairman spoke on the occasion. Jasim Uddin and Taslim Uddin Khan, Chief of Program (Operations) of Social Marketing Company (SMC).
