Dhaka, February 2: Honoring the martyrs of the great language movement, the High Court announced the verdict in Bengali language on the first day of February, the month of language. On Wednesday, February 1, in a writ case, the High Court bench consisting of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md. Khairul Alam announced the verdict.

Advocate Md. Shariful Islam was present in the court on behalf of the writ. Deputy Attorney General Amit Dasgupta appeared for the state.

Before announcing the verdict, Justice Naima Haider said, "Today is February 1. The month of language begins today. At that time, the High Court decided to settle a case related to the assigned property and send it back to the Appellate Tribunal for hearing.

"After discussion and review of counsel's arguments, we agree to dispose of the ruling with the following directions without entering into a review of the merits of this litigation," the court said.

The directions are that the petitioner may file an appeal before the Appellate Tribunal for the return of the vested property; If the applicant wants to appeal to the Vested Property Appellate Tribunal, the appeal must be filed within 90 days of receipt of this order; Tamadi shall have immunity in appeal to the Extradition Appellate Tribunal; The order of extradition tribunal shall remain in abeyance pending appeal.

The court said that status quo regarding possession will be maintained until the parties settle the appeal.
