Bangladesh The Judiciary of the two countries is almost the same: Chief Justice of India
Dhaka, 25 February 2024 : Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Jashwant Chandrachud has commented that the judiciary of Bangladesh and India are almost the same.
He said that there is a long-standing friendly relationship between the two countries. Judiciary and culture of both countries are almost same. Justice Dhananjay Jashowant Chandrachud said these things after observing the judicial proceedings in the Appellate Division on Sunday.
Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Jashwant Chandrachud came to the Ejalas (Court of the Chief Justice) at around 9:20 am along with the Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obaidul Hasan and five other judges of the Appellate Division.
Two judges of the Supreme Court of India are with him. They are Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Aniruddha Bose of the Supreme Court of India. The other five judges of the Appellate Division of Bangladesh are Justice Borhan Uddin, Justice M, Inayetur Rahim, Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam, Justice Md. Abu Zafar Siddiqui and Justice Jahangir Hossain.
Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said, "Today is a special day for us". The Chief Justice of India and two judges of the country are present. Then Attorney General AM Amin Uddin congratulated the Chief Justice of India and the other two judges.
The Attorney General said, the presence of the Chief Justice of India and two judges is highly honoured. This is the first appearance of three judges, which is part of history.
