Dhaka: The tenth session of the current Eleventh National Assembly will begin on November 8.

Like the sessions of the Corona period, this session will continue in accordance with the strict hygiene rules. This may be a special session on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Earlier, the ninth session of the parliament ended on September 10. The brief session, which began on September 6, had five working days. Six laws have been passed.

According to the constitution, there is no provision for a maximum break of 60 days between the end of one session and the beginning of another. Earlier this year, the seventh, eighth and ninth sessions ended with the risk of contracting the epidemic coronavirus. This year's session is also being organized keeping in mind the need to maintain social distance and adhere to hygiene rules. As in the previous three sessions, relatively young and healthy MPs will be encouraged to go to Parliament.

Parliament is again preparing to convene a special session on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Even after completing the preparation, it did not happen due to Corona.

It is learned that foreign guests will be invited to this special session as in the preparation of the previous session which was ruined. Everything depends on the situation.

Besides, the Jatiya Sangsad has taken 10 programs on the occasion of Mujib Year. Of these, tree planting is now underway. In November, Mujib's website will be inaugurated, commemorative stamps will be unveiled, Constitution Day will be celebrated on November 4, a month-long exhibition of photographs and documentaries will be held, book 'Bangabandhu in Parliament' will be published and children's fairs will be held.

Earlier, a special session was adjourned on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The session was scheduled to be held on March 22 and 23. The session was adjourned considering the public health risks in the situation arising out of the corona spreading worldwide.

On March 3, President Abdul Hamid convened a two-day special session under Article 72 (1) of the Constitution. The two-day special session was to be addressed by former President of India (late) Pranab Mukherjee and President of Nepal Vidya Devi Bhandari.
