Dhaka, August 20: Bangladesh Awami League has undertaken various political programs throughout the day at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital in memory of those killed in the August 21 grenade attack.

These programs have been taken on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the grenade attack on Sunday (21 August). In order to avoid traffic jam during the programme, traffic will be limited in Press Club, Paltan and Zero Point areas of the capital. As a result, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that traffic diversion will continue on those roads from 9 am until the end of the program.

This information was informed by the media and public relations department of DMP on Saturday (August 20). Dhaka Metropolitan Police has requested the city residents to use different roads when traveling in these areas. On August 21, 2004, a grenade attack was carried out on a political rally in the capital. The grenade attack took place at the rally of Bangabandhu's current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. That day, 22 fresh lives were lost in the grenade attack.
