Dhaka, October 26: Pointing out that the world is going through a crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine war and the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged businessmen to do business thinking about the country and people.

Recalling the disaster of the Hawa Bhaban during the BNP government, the Prime Minister said, "Now they think about profit. Earlier, a large part of it would have gone to wind. Now there is no system for that wind. I have freed everyone from there."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this during an exchange of views with importers and exporters of consumer goods of the country at her official residence Ganabhaban on Wednesday.

She said, "There is no Hawa Bhaban, there is no development wing in the PMO (Prime Minister's Office). One share has to be given to the Hawa Bhaban, one share has to be given to the Development Bhaban or so-and-so. You don't have to suffer this pain anymore. That is what you will surely hunt. Everyone is free from that pain."

The Prime Minister said, "After the formation of the government in 2009, we did not go there to choose the party of our businessmen. We have created the environment so that they can do business as businessmen."

Sheikh Hasina, the head of the government for three consecutive years, said, "You have been doing profitable business for 14 consecutive years, but we also faced it during Corona. We gave incentives, special incentives, no one came to me and demanded. No one said. But we decided, A team of mine was doing a great job - they were looking at where things could be done. Various steps were taken to keep the wheels of the economy moving."

Sheikh Hasina said in the context of Russia-Ukraine war and sanctions, "Industries are closed in the developed countries of the world, all their activities are stopped. We have said that we will not allow it to be closed here. We have to keep it running here. I gave the salary of the workers, the salary of these garments. All. Packaged incentives, arranged special allocations."

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman, Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Dr. Ahmad Kaykaus and Prime Minister's Office Senior Secretary Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia were present. FBCCI President Jasim Uddin, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and some top businessmen were present among the businessmen.
