Votes Those who accuse of vote theft are vote robbers: Prime Minister
Dhaka, June 21: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Those who call us vote stealers, they are vote robbers. Because whenever they came to power, they came by stealing votes." She said this at a press conference about his visit to Switzerland at Ganobhaban on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said, "The Election Commission has been constituted according to the law. There is a list of voters with pictures. There are no fake voters like them. The vote will be held according to the constitution. If the people vote, then I am there. If not, then I am not. I believe in empowering the people."
The Prime Minister urged the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) to create a favorable environment in Myanmar for the speedy and safe repatriation of the Rohingyas.
She said, "After August 15, 1975, there was no such thing as election. There was no right to vote. It was we who protested and returned the right to vote. Now many people can talk a lot. Their words are different. They will want to create an environment."
The Prime Minister said, "Those who are conscious citizens of our country will judge where was Bangladesh 14 or 14 and a half years ago before 2009? Where is Bangladesh today? What was the socio-economic condition of the people, where is the condition of Bangladesh today after 14 and a half years. We have not progressed overall. What has not happened? Has the economic capacity of the people of the country increased or not? The image of the country has increased at the international level or not. Conscious citizens like you must consider that."
In response to a question about the election, Sheikh Hasina said, "How many by-elections, local government elections have been held in our time, you say whether the elections were fair or not. The Election Commission has been formed according to the law. One crore 23 lakh fake voter list was made by the BNP government. Now And that is no more, now there is voter list with photo. Earlier there was iron box, they used to fill the box by sealing it. Now transparent ballot box, there is no chance to fill the box by sealing it."
She said, "Still, why are questions being raised about the election, who is raising the question? I think, those who do not like the change in the fate of the people of this country are the ones who are questioning the election. Those who will eat everything will eat themselves, the people of the country will remain neglected, poor, There will be moaning – that's why they have this question."
