Thousands of people are getting vaccinated willingly everyday

Dhaka, July 27: Thousands of people across the country, including the capital, are willingly receiving the coronavirus vaccine every day. Men and women who want to be vaccinated are going to the designated vaccination center with the vaccine card by applying through the Surokkha app. They are getting vaccinated despite the presence of long queues.

The citizens are currently getting vaccinated with Sinopharm jabs from China and Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from the USA. The AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by India's Serum Institute will be used soon.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) officials, 1,26,12,447 people have registered so far for vaccination.

On January 27 this year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the vaccination program. In the first round, registrants received the AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine. So far, the most people in the country have been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca jab.

As of Monday (July 26), 58,20,033 people have received the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and 42,98,086 people have received the second dose.

A total of 50,235 people have received the first dose of Pfizer, while 288 people have received the second dose. The first dose of the Sinopharm jab has been received by 14,85,012 people, while 12,069 people have received the second dose.

Besides, 4,21,950 people have received the first dose of Moderna.
